Abandoned street right-of-ways become excellent open space pedestrian links to expand public access along Cannery Row. Bellinger Foster Steinmetz assisted the City with integrating historic sardine cannery worker’s shacks as interpretive features along one walkway terminating at Doc Ricketts Lab on Cannery Row. Lighting, planting, steps and benches blend the historic Cannery Row and recreation trail design features.
