The Monterey Bay Coastal Trail will ultimately link all communities on Monterey Bay. In Monterey County, the award-winning trail connects such diverse areas as the Del Monte dunes, Fisherman’s Wharf, Monterey State Historic Park, San Carlos Beach, Cannery Row and Lover’s Point. Bellinger Foster Steinmetz has been involved in the planning and design of numerous trail segments from Sand City to Pacific Grove. Beach access, visual quality, safety, and historic preservation are some of the issues addressed during the extensive planning and design process. We have provided ongoing planning and design services, including parking studies, lighting improvements, Coastal Commission permits, TEA grant application materials, computer simulations, detailed design, native plant restoration and construction review assistance.
