Bellinger Foster Steinmetz continues their work with the University by designing the plaza space for this renovation of a former military base building. The functional requirements included providing for extensive use by students during registration; deliveries; accessible parking; defining the building entrance; fire access; and developing a significant plaza space that reflects the building’s important functions. For many, this building will serve as the first impression of the University. The design also needed to be sensitive to the adjacent building due to its future renovation.The plaza solution complements the building’s architecture while creating functional and aesthetic outdoor spaces that meet the client’s needs.
