Bellinger Foster Steinmetz designed new polyurethane bound rubber surfaced tracks for all four high schools in the Salinas Union High School District. Specifications were prepared to cover the range of surfacing options, from latex to high school level urethane surfaces, to black or red surface coating. Since all four tracks were completed at the same time, the District selected the black base mat polyurethane system to reduce future resurfacing costs.

To encourage the competitive bidding climate, Bellinger Foster Steinmetz specified a range of materials and construction methods based on our technical knowledge and construction management skills. Specifying a wider range of construction options acceptable to our client helped to bring the project within budget.

After completing Salinas High School's synthetic turf football field, the Salinas Union High School District decided to install synthetic fields at North Salinas, Alisal and Everett Alvarez High Schools.
