Masters College Synthetic Turf Field, Santa Clarita, CA
Masters College in Santa Clarita, California was looking to convert their shared baseball/soccer field into a synthetic surface. Bellinger Foster Steinmetz and DiGeronimo Mikula Associates were retained to prepare the design plans to accomodate the two sports.
The drainage design is unique in that there is no storm drain system in the area. An inverted sump was designed to allow water to bubble up to the surface from the field drain system and then surface flow as it always has. Drain trenches act as storage to allow the sump to function.
Construction was completed in January 2006.
